Fishing Reel Bearing Customer Review

Over the past 2 years I have placed several orders with Boca Bearings. I ordered via phone and customer service was top notch. My orders consist of Orange Seal Ceramic Hybrid bearings for fishing reels. I have upgraded 2 Shimano Calcutta, 1 Shimano Curado, and 2 Penn 525 Mags that I use for surf fishing. I was immediately offered a discount for finding that the Calcutta has 2 different size spool bearings. My bearings always arrive very quickly with FREE shipping...and they throw in goodies like catalogs, stickers and a mouse pad that has Orange Seal bearing images with actual sizes so you can match your existing bearing up...very useful.

After installing the Orange Seals...to say the difference is extremely noticeable is an understatement. Casting distance was almost doubled when surf fishing with the upgraded Penn 525's. I fish mostly salt water flats from a boat, kayak, and wading and after a year of abuse, and some salt water dunking, the reels are smooth as silk. Before the Orange Seals, heavy usage would result in grinding when casting and retrieving and I would have to tear them apart and oil up the bearings...not any more! I strictly use mono line and I easily outcast my buddies using braided super lines...they are obviously surprised. After upgrading my casting reels, I will be working on my spinning reels next. What a great, quality engineered product...worth every penny. It's to the point now, that I will not use a brand new reel out of the box without installing Orange Seals.

Boca Bearings Sponsored RC driver Dylan Cecce recently had a big win at the World Dirt Racing Association (WDRA) Summer Nationals in the DODC 17.5 EDM Class. Dylan also TQ'ed the EDM class and is now leading the class in the WDRA series. The World Dirt Racing Association (WDRA) was founded in 2001 by Jeff Rupert. The WDRA uses the DODC rules package to govern the touring series for regional dirt oval racers. The WDRA Series sanctions a series of dirt oval events throughout New York and Pennsylvania. In 2010, 8 different tracks will host WDRA events. The series is comprised of 3 divisions of Eastern Dirt Modified (EDM) style cars, 1 division of Late Model style cars and 1 division of Sprint style cars.

First off, I want to thank you for making such a great product. The bearings that I ordered for my WTB LaserDisc Lite hubs were reasonably priced as compared to a bike specific bearing manufacturer. Once installed, which took all of ten minutes, the bearing initially felt a bit slow, but once I hit the trail for about an hour they loosened right up, they feel so buttery smooth. After they took me to my first MTV race win in over a year, I am never going back. The bearings continue to impress me with their speed and smoothness. And the yellow seal that is lubed for life is a great feature. Overall inexpensive high quality bearing that I would and do recommend to all my riding buds.

With a new season usually comes new hope. At least that was the way I felt before the night started. My race team rebuilt my car over the winter and my hope was that I would make it through the first few races before having any mechanical problems.

Heat Race:
Last year I said this so many times even I got sick of hearing it. I was so fast in hot laps. I was the fastest car on the track. I really expected good things in the race. The race started and my car felt great! Unfortunately, that great feeling didn’t last very long. As we started the second lap I felt a strange vibration. I didn’t even make it back around the track before my chain broke, ending my race.

Feature Race:
Since we are on such a tight budget we do not have a spare chain and had to try to fix the broken one. It was not such a good feeling to know I was starting the race with a patched together car, but I never give up and always give my best no matter what. Because of the DNF I suffered in my heat race, I had to start the feature race in 15th place.

I got a huge jump at the start of the race and within 2 laps had already moved my way up to 7th place. Once again I started to get that good feeling, and once again the feeling went away as fast as it came. I didn’t make it much farther before my chain broke again. 13th place is where I was officially listed as finishing.

I know I have a fast car, I just need to find a lucky penny or something before next weekend.

2nd annual Bullet Town Mayhem RC Race Recap

Thanks to Boca Bearings for sponsoring our 2nd annual Bullet Town Mayhem RC race in Milan, TN this past May 15th 2010. As we fought off rain showers all day, we still managed to get the event in. The crew put dry dirt on sections of the track two different times getting it ready to run on. After the second attempt, we were able to complete all of our mains! : ) Kudos to the Bullet Town crew and out of towner's that pitched in to keep it going. Depta Takes RCCM Cup in Hildesheim, Germany with Boca Bearings

Last weekend the first round of the RCCM Cup took place on the track in

Hildesheim, Germany. Arriving on Thursday, there was no opportunity for the drivers to practice due to rain for the 31 starters, so the first practice heats did not happen until Saturday morning. After the last qualification heat Merlin had to start from pole position in the final with his Serpent 733. Right from the start of the final he pulled away and ran easily for 30 minutes with a smooth working car, finishing 7 laps in front of second Thomas Einbeck. It was the first race with the Serpent 733 with Boca Bearings for Merlin, who had never before started in a 1/10 scale class. Also thanks to his Mechanic Björn Möhring and Siegfried Lakeit for pitting, who replaced regular pit man Hansi Heise for the weekend. The final standings were:

Boca RC Driver Saxon Takes Third Place at Race for a Cure III

This past weekend I attended the Race For a Cure III as well as the grand opening of the Metrolina RC speedway. The race was awesome. I qualified 2nd but due to a little bump over the first jump I fell to the back of the pack. I then went on a mission and quickly made it to the top spot before the halfway point. Soon after my car faded due to my motor coming loose but I was still able to pull out 3rd place win. On Sunday at the new Metrolina RC track I qualified 2nd and was able to hold on to keep the same position.

Boca Sprint Car Driver Jessica Brannam Tops Charts

BRANNAM TOPS THE CHARTS DURING PRESEASON TESTING

A large group of drivers were on hand at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, WI for the 2010 season opening test session. Amongst them was 44 time racing champion, Jessica Brannam. Like the rest, she was there to shake off the rust from a long off season and to prepare her car for the up coming season. Unfortunately, racers in the Midwest have to wait out a long winter off season before they get a chance to hit the race track and start a new season of racing. None is more eager to get back at it than Brannam. She immediately showed her enthusiasm by setting the time to beat in the first round of practice.

“Wow!” exclaimed Brannam. “The car felt great and even though the track was dry and slick I could put it wherever I wanted.” The only driver to best Jessica's fast time was Jessica herself. In each practice round she improved her speed. “It is only testing, but it always feels good to be the fastest. It was a very long winter and driving a race car again is just what I needed.” Brannam went on to say, “I trained very hard in the off season and I felt very strong behind the wheel today.”

The 2009 season was not as kind to Jessica as she would have liked and she is looking forward to a stronger 2010. Due to mechanical failure, Jessica did not finish over 30% of her races in 2009. When her car did not fail her, she was very strong. Even with such a high failure rate, Brannam still ended 2009 with 2 heat race victories, 1 feature race victory, 3 poles and she finished the season 4th in points. “I don't want to sound so surprised about being as fast as we were today, but the car is basically the same as last year. The one thing we did do over the winter was put Boca Bearings on my sprint car. I have used Boca Bearings on my go karts for many years and have won most of my championships with Boca.” Brannam said.

Weather permitting, Wilmot Raceway will open for the 2010 racing season within the next few weeks. Brannam hopes to move her way up a few more places in the season points standings during 2010.

15 Year Old Martinez Takes 2010 Time Trials Bike National Champ

Alexander Hamilton Takes 7th at Sea Otter Classic on Boca's Ceramic Bearings

This is the bike that Alexander MacMillan raced to a 7th place finish at this years Sea Otter Classic in the Super Downhill competition. The bike was finished being put together about one hour before the race so his first ride on it was the race itself. Alexander is running Boca's Ceramic Lightning Yellow Seal bearings in his hubs and bottom bracket. Now in its 20th year, the Sea Otter Classic distinguishes itself from its humble beginnings in 1991 with an activities roster designed to engage everyone. I wanted to take a moment to tell you about a wonderful experience I’m having using Boca Bearings in my RC car. I used to run stock bearings in my car and was looking for more speed for my racing. One of the things I tried was to switch out the stock metal bearings for a set of Ceramic bearings. The change is like night and day. My car runs so much smoother now as well as a lot less noise when its rolling freely. Ordering from them was easy too. I just went online and chose the bearing set I needed and in about a week they were at my door. Take a look at all the types of bearings they have and see if they have one to make things a little easier in whatever you do.

Boca Driver Maxime Favrelle wins French 1/10th RC National Championships

The French 1/10 RC On-Road National Championship that was held in Nantes in the West of the Country. With 27 entries in the Elite class and 60 entries in National class, it was a really good participation. The qualification was very tight and saw Adrien Bertin taking the TQ in front of Thomas Eytard, Maxime Favrelle and Basile Concialdi who took the last spot for the direct final. In the final Favrelle had the best start and managed to increase is lead to 1 lap over the rest of the field in the early stage of the race, but his engine stalled after the first half of the race and he lost some time. With a strong and aggressive run Favrelle could manage to recover and take over the lead again just a few minutes before the end. At this time Desmaries was on 2nd position, but also his engine stalled and he dropped down to 7th position gifting Basile Concialdi with the runner up spot, just in front of Thomas Eytard. Maxime proudly runs on Boca's Ceramic Lightning Series bearings.

Mikey Bustamante Race Report at the 2010 RC Desert Thunder

I have been Racing a series between here and Arizona and the final race was last Saturday 3-27-10, I was leading the Pro Buggy series and after breaking in one race in truggy I was 3rd in the series with one round to go. Qualifying was pretty stressful, in buggy I had to TQ and then I could finish one spot behind Jessie Robinson in order to win the series, If I didnt TQ then I would have to beat him in order to win the series. TQ would be extremely difficult with Roman Miller, Jessie Robinson, and Steve Antill in the Mix. My first qual for buggy was flawless, I ran a blistering fast time and held TQ 10 Seconds over Second place.

In Truggy I was having some odd motor issue and had to spend the first qual getting my motor squared away. In round two, the track was much warmer and my tires seemed a little too soft for Buggy, but luckily round two was slower and I held onto tq still 10 seconds ahead of Jessie Robinson. In truggy, my truggy was on fire, I was on a TQ run with 2 min to go and I clipped a pipe that was sticking up and broke my front end. After Securing TQ I knew in buggy I just had to finish one spot behind Jessie or any spot ahead of him. The start was promising and I stretched out about a 5 second lead over Roman Miller, I heard that Jessie had flamed out 2 min in, so I held back and just drove consistent and smooth, eventually Roman reeled me in and got by me.

He didn't pull to far away and seemed to be pushing really hard, towards the end I started to drive a little harder to try and catch him. With one minute to go he was pushing too hard in the whoops section and yanked out a screw in his steering knuckle, I got by to take over the lead and won the Race. This secured my spot as the Desert Thunder Series Pro Buggy winner! In truggy I started 10th, I flipped in the first corner and I had to work my way all the way back up. I got up to 5th and realized the only way I could make up any time is 10 min pit stops. I calmed down and started to reel in the leaders, I made it to fourth about 7 sec behind 3rd and I had a few bobbles and couldnt catch back up. I finished fourth in the main and finished fourth overall in the Pro Truggy class 2 points behind 2nd and 3rd place.

I recently purchased Boca Bearings for a Magnum 52 XLS and want to thank you for delivering the correct bearings. My hobby shop tried twice (with whatever outfit he orders from) and twice they sent the wrong bearings. The bearings arrived today and have already been installed. There were several nice touches included with the bearings: keyboard mat (or working mat), clear instructions and nice decals. It's nice to deal with a professional, high quality organization. Team Boca Driver Hrvoje Stegmayer wins EFRA Open European Championship in Formula 1

The 5th and final EFRA GP race for Open European Championship was held in Lostallo, Switzerland. As expected, this beautiful and one of the most challenging tracks hosted around 80 drivers in 2 classes. Again, this was one of the hardest races I had, not with the competitors, but with stress, fear and bad luck with the car. Setup was not a problem, but it felt like I was cursed, I had interference, a runaway car, 2 dead receivers, 2 dead servos, battery and voltage regulator. All that gave me some fear in qualifications where I was driving really carefully and with fear of loosing the control of the car. After qualifications there were not any problems with my electronics, so I started my semi-final from 6th place. We started on the straight, and with my specialty finger launch control, I managed to pass 4 drivers before the 1st corner. I finished the semi in 1st place, and made 4th starting position for the main 45 minutes. It started good, again precise finger launch control made a good start, I passed 2 drivers before first corner. Even though I had new tires and the same setup as in the semi-finals suddenly I had roll-over caused by too much grip on the track. That error cost me 2nd place, and I dropped to 10th. The next 35 minutes was a battle to regain lost seconds, and I slowly moved up place by place. In this dramatic race, 10 minutes before the end, it started to rain heavily. Practically all the cars were spinning on the track, and I got into 2nd position. I was called into the pits to change to rain tires. Some problems with the rear tires cost me 90 seconds of time, and I lost 3 laps. With few minutes until the end of the race it was impossible to catch up and I finished up in 4th place. But this was enough to win the EFRA Open European Championship in class 1:5 Formula 1 for 2009. A historic first for a driver without factory support.

I recently purchased a set of your OrangeSeal bearings for my Shimano Fishing reels through Justin in your sales department. You make a great product ! Your bearings made my reels perform far better than they did the day they came out of the box !! The reels are over ten years old !! This is the best fishing related purchase I have made in 2 years. After trying the reels, I immediately ordered two more kits. I am totally satisfied! The second issue I want to address is the quality of service I recieved during my purchase. Outstanding!! (I am a mechanical idiot, no joke, just fact.) Justin, in your sales department, patiently assisted me in determining the correct size and grade of bearing to use in my reels, and explained the effects of the technology used in your product. I have been skating all week in rain and today was no exception. It has been a week of solid rain skates and no bearing maintenance until today. Some were locked up and some could barely turn. Well, I took them apart and put in some stuff from Boca Bearings called bearing soak. It's a high quality lube. Then I messed with them by hand working them to get the grit out. They had big time grit. I was wondering if the stainless steel was real so I got out my magnifying glass with lights and got a good look at the inside races and I could not see any rust. The outside, no rust. When I got them turning I put them on my Bont cleaner and washed in white gas, then lube with that bearing soak stuff. It's a fantastic lube. The best. Then put back together and those bearings, all of them spin like crazy.

Do the above and you will find skating in rain or puddles is just not a problem at all. Grit is a problem and when it dries it locks up but with the bearing soak and some hand turning back and forth and then a cleaning they will be back to spinning freely, no ruined bearings!!!!

I just like the fact that I can skate through serious wetness and leave my skates for over a week before I clean them all the while skating on them every day and only cleaning them because they are squeeking at me then cleaning them...every single one is back to full spin. Unbelievable.

I had completely forgotten encountering a bearing malfunction with my engine some time ago and had not replaced the bearing. Since the 75K rear bearing could not be found locally, a toll-free call was made (800) 332-3256 to Boca Bearing in Boca Raton, Florida. Not only do they have a toll-free number, but their shipping and handling is absolutely free in the United States and Canada. The bearing was paid for by credit card and came by mail three days later in a padded shipping envelope. Along with the bearing came complete instructions on the easiest way to install the new bearing. I think their policies and procedures are great.

I just wanted to relay to you how happy we have been running the Boca Products (rc bearings & lubes) in off road nitro R/C.

On July 11, 2009 Tanner and Will Clowser raced a 2 hour endurance race at our track, The Nitro Pit, here in Phoenix, AZ. The race started in 100 degree weather and finished 2 hours later with it still in the mid 90's. We ran a 1/8 buggy that we had not intended to run and had very little prep time. The team finished 3rd in that race with no bearing failures of any sort and only 3 laps out of 1st. We could still run it now if we wanted.

We have been using the lightning lube and grease in all of the bearings for a couple of years. I tell everyone about our good luck especially with using the lightning lube in the clutchbell bearings. We generally get hours of run time in the small clutch bell bearings when properly maintained before each race day.

"Mother Oxygen Sculpture"

“Mother Oxygen” is a one of a kind, welded steel sculpture representing the Oxygen in Hyperbaric Chambers that use pressurized Oxygen for treatments with brain injured children. It is for a new facility to be built in Tampa, Florida. The existing facility gives FREE treatments to children that need it. Boca Bearings sponsored artist Leslie Evans, with the approximately 300 ball bearings used in this piece. Since all the treatments are free, Leslie donated her time and materials for this sculpture. “Mother Oxygen” designed to be a “kind” image to help alleviate the fear some children might be experiencing. The plan is to have a sound source of bubbles to run concurrently with the piece to make it a multi-sensory therapy experience.

Leslie has incorporated ball bearings in many of my sculptures, one of which is “Kidney Stoned” which is an accurate depiction of diseases of the kidney.

Pleasantly Surprised Boca Bearing Customer - Several months ago I installed one of your ceramic hybrid bearings for an OS50 Hyper (rear bearing) in a Trex 600 Heli. It came with two yellow rubber seals in it. Since I have had pretty bad luck with bearings in this particular engine I elected to try something different and leave both the seals in the bearing. I have since run about 15 gallons of hard flying through this engine without a hitch. The motor is still silky smooth and noise level much lower than when I first bought the engine with its original bearing. In fact its a bit startling the overall reduction in noise. No issues with fuel delivery or tuning. I routinely run this engine lean and hot because frankly this bearing was going to be my last shot with the engine before moving on to a different brand and I decided I'd give it a good thrashing on the way out.

What puzzles me is why the bearing works so well with the seals in? Could it be that the lubricant contained in the bearing is more than sufficient to keep the bearing healthy and that keeping contamination out (such as sand sucked into the carb during landings and such-like) is more important? The heli definitely kicks up a lot of dust during landings on grass or even on pavement depending on conditions.

The 2008 Arizona State Championship was a great race this year with many top competitors. Though the competition was stiff, Team Boca driver Dan Coleman went home with a second place finish in the B-Main for SRS Truck and tenth in the A-Main Finalist for SRS Buggy. The SRS Buggy A-Main was a fifteen minute main with Dan starting in the seventh position.

Through most of the race, Dan moved up to sixth and ran most of the race in this position until some receiver problems forced him to pull his car from the track and finish 10th overall...

The Orange Seal bearings are the latest addition to Boca’s Lightning Bearing Technology (LBT) line of high performance bearings for racing enthusiasts. The bearing races are rated at an ABEC 7 tolerance, which makes the Orange Seal line the most precise bearing possible. At the 2008 Nitro Pit Truck Nationals, Levi's Boca Ceramic Lightning bearings and his Kyosho STRR were DIALED as soon as he got there and he was very fast in practice, catching alot of attention early. In the 1st round of qualifying he was ahead of Adam Drake on a TQ run with about 3 minutes left and lost a rear wheel hub carrier.

In the 2nd round: Levi & Adam checked out on the rest of the feild and Adam beat Levi by a couple of seconds. Overall for the round Adam was 2nd & Levi was 3rd out of 121 truggys

Overall put him 9th in the A-Main Had more little things go wrong in the main and finished 13th Nitro Maxx @ Proline Levi was very fast as we ran this layout earler this year. Buggy he bumped out of the B to get to the A and was running 5th. 6 minutes into a 25 minute main, when a wrong way car hit him and broke a front shock.

Truggy was way different: Levi battled all 4 quals with Jared Tebo, Bobby Tillman, Scott Hughes & Matt Catalano. Overall started 4 for the main and caught Bob & Scott about halfway thru the 25 min main. Bobby broke, then Scott and Levi was CLEARLY fastest of the three. Would have been a killer race if they could have raced to the finish. Levi at the very end of the race let Jared go by to go a lap down. 2nd place for Levi and a couple of nice paychecks from some of his sponsors!!

Delray Beach, FL (April 1, 2008) -- The Boca Bearing Company is pleased to announce the launch of their new MX Engine bearings for radio controlled engines. For the past 20 years Boca Bearing has been one of the most innovative leaders in the RC engine bearing field and among the first to offer ceramic bearings to the hobby world. With the introduction of their new MX Engine Bearings, Boca Bearing is raising the bar even further for particularly problematic RC engines.

As radio controlled engines have evolved they have become more powerful, use more nitro fuel and come under greater thrust loads, than in the past. The nitro content can dry the thin, stock bearing retainer very quickly which makes the whole bearing susceptible to premature failure when subjected to high radial and thrust loads. Boca Bearing is introducing the MX Bearing line to solve these specific issues.

MX bearings have a unique, new internal design to increase load capabilities. This allows the bearings to work under harsher operations where shafts come under excessive side and radial load. These bearings are available in both a standard high-speed version with either chrome steel balls or races or as a ceramic hybrid, with ceramic balls and chrome races. Chrome steel is used because it is harder than stainless steel but the races are also cryogenically processed to attain an even harder surface. A stronger, thicker retainer material has been used to allow the MX Bearings to hold up under high nitro content fuel and Grade 10 balls are used to give a closer tolerance to enhance performance.

The MX Bearing line is currently available in a limited size range aimed at those engines with known stock bearing issues. Downhill Street Luge Results for Richard Wilson

Boca team Street Luge rider, Richard Wilson, just got back from a grueling Maryhill Loop World Cup Festival of Speed with 137 athlete's and 2.2. miles of the most rigorous corners and smoothest asphalt around. This road is the "best in the world" said IGSA resident MARCUS RETIMA, and Richard agrees.

Richard said the road was more technical than it was fast, but the 18 turns can wear a racer out quickly. Stomach muscles burn, necks easily get strained from the wieght of their helmets and soles quickly melt down from braking hard. But once Richard figured out what wheels to ride the surface was dark, gummy and smooth!

Those that didn't practice ended up failing and crashing early on. But Richard was training up at Paloma mountains for the past 5 weekends getting in shape for this event. He hung in like a champ and in his first heat he was 3rd overall with 6 guys total in the pack. He finished 6th in his second heat I finish 6th and managed to rank 10th out of 28. Oh did we mention that Richard is 54 years old!

This past weekend was Round #5 of the Jimmy Babcock Nitro Off-road Series at Full Throttle Hobbies In Bakersfield, CA. Many racers made the journey up North including top drivers like Cody King, Ryan Lutz, Marty Korn, Phillip Atondo, Levi Jackson, Ray Norte, Paul Coleman, Clint Wachter, etc..

Phillip Atondo TQ'd both expert buggy and truggy showing he was the man to beat going into the main events. In expert 1/8 Buggy, kyosho drivers, Cody King and Ryan Lutz battled most of the main event for the number one spot until late in the race when Ryan Lutz ran out of fuel giving Cody King a huge lead on 2nd. King went on to win and expanding his overall points lead with only 3 races left.

In expert Truggy, Ryan Lutz dominated once again and followed up his 2nd place finish last weekend at the 2007 Roar Truck Nats with a very impressive win at J.B.R.L. Lutz has won 3 out of the 5 races overall in the series and has a pretty big points lead heading into the last couple of races.

Wanted you to know that the bearings I ordered worked like a peach and are the direct replacement for the E-flite Park 400 series outrunner electric motors.

Originally I had contacted Horizon Hobby's customer service only to find out that these $60 motors do not have replacement bearings and the motor should be tossed in the trash. Thinking this would be a waste of an otherwise fine motor I decided to find replacements. Removal of the old bearings was slightly difficult, but not impossible. First/last stop was Boca. Bingo we have a winner. Sure am glad I didn't listen.

Powered Street Luge Pushes The Limit Of Boca Bearings

Back on April 26 of this year Roland Morrison used 16 ceramic bearings from Boca Bearings to run a record 103 mph with his Powered Streetluge. In September at the World of Speed event held on the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah Roland used the same set of bearings to push his record to 105mph. In the World of Speed 2007 event Roland hopes to push his record to 150 mph with completely new Powered Streetluge. He will be running on a 2 miles course at approx. 13,205 rpms with a load of approx. 20.83lbs per bearing. Good luck Roland!

Boca Driver Casado Takes First Place in Spanish National Competition

The event took place in Madrid the capital of Spain with bad weather conditions, a lot of rain and just a little sun. As result a lot of the bearings used in other drivers cars were rusted and damaged causing many headaches.

In the first lap Casado I was Second place but I remembered that I was going after the Spain Championship Title and I knew that I was competing against a lot of experienced drivers. Everyone's time scores were very tight and the pressure was rising because we all wanted to be in the finals.

In the first part of the finals my closest competition Jordi Padro had some problems with his car, his Esc broke and had to retire. I was then racing very close to Fernand Coy for about two laps but after that I was able to speed up, passed him and escaped. As result I got my Victory with a qualifying time leaving the second position behind by almost a full lap.

In the second Part of the Finals everything was very similar, once more Padro broke his Esc because of the rain and had to resign which gave me automatically the fist place and Spain Champion Title.

As a repair tech for Magnum engines I see unusual problems that most users aren't aware of. My father-in-law does prototype testing of Global Hobbies Airplanes and Magnum engines. He had some time on a late production Magnum 91FS engine which has the positive crankcase vent tube which runs back to the intake manifold. This engine developed a problem in that it wouldn't stop with the throttle closed, but would continue to idle slowly. We determined by testing, that the front bearing (which contains a single shield) was allowing air to leak into the crankcase sufficient to allow the engine to idle. I replaced the front bearing with a Boca Bearings' double sealed replacement. This solved the problem, and the engine stops very reliably. We have discussed the problem with the management at Sanye Models, and are awaiting their action on the problem. You will need to relocate the idler gear and the top gear inside the tranny to get a better "bite" on the differential gear. If everything is done correctly, amazing performance will result. The problem is: the differential gear is not perfectly round by design so this is manna for the performance junkie who knows what he is doing. One other thing, this tip is specific to transmissions not equipped with a slipper clutch. Using an MR685-ZZ, 5x11x5mm bearing move the idler gear away from the spur gear and then install a regular MR115-ZZ, 5x11x4mm bearing with washers. Using a MR685-ZZ, 5x11x5mm bearing move the top gear closer to the spur gear after installing the normal 5x11x4mm bearing. Mount a MF85-ZZ bearing between the spur gear and the transmission case.

Boca RC Driver Levi Jackson Takes Young Gun Award

Saturday series #1 - #3: Levi took 5th in the b-main pro buggy, 14th in a-main and 22nd in b-main. In the Maxx Challenge Levi finished 12th in Proline/Pro buggy, 12th in the A-main and 7th A-main. In the West Coast Shoot-out (4 race series) Levi Finished 2nd overall in both classes and took Young Gun award being the youngest/ fastest in the series!

Boca RC Driver Nathan Broce Finishes 1st in 1/10 Scale

With the 1/10 scale Losi Drake 2, Boca Bearings driver Nathan finished, first in the A main on June 10 and the 17th. On June 24th at the King Of the Hillbilly Race Nathan finished 3rd in the A main. Racing his Mugen 1/8 scale Nathan finished 6th June 17 and 7th in the June 17th race. June 24th at the King of The Hillbilly race he finished 9th in the A main, after braking an e clip on the front right wheel.

Boca RC Driver Andrew Schear Wins West Coast Shoot Out

Andrew Schear won the West Coast Shootout this past weekend in Saugus, CA. He won all three qualifiers and finished 1st place in the A-main in 1/8 scale buggy (12 seconds ahead of second place). Andrew was running a Jammin buggy with Novarossi P5 motor hopped up with Boca Bearing's Ceramic Halfbrid technlogy.
