Boca Bearings Newsletter: Issue 22
Spherical Ball Bushings are used to accommodate shafts or rods with variable amounts of misalignment. They are designed to manage high radial loads and provide consistent performance under conditions of marginal lubrication, extreme speed and critical stress. Most spherical ball bushings consist of a plain bearing and ball bushing inside a lined, cylindrical housing that reduces friction or provides lubrication. Lubrication-free spherical ball bushings are also available. Metal balls and liners are usually made of bronze, steel or iron. Non-metallic balls and liners are typically made of nylon, plastic or polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). For heavy-duty applications, spherical ball bushings can include large bores or spherically shaped rollers that permit axial loading and relative misalignment between...more »
Industrial lubricants are oils, greases and other substances designed to reduce friction, binding or wear. Specialized characteristics may enhance thermal conduction or reduce electrical resistivity. Other industrial lubricants can provide sealing against moisture. Industrial lubricants are available in many forms such as low viscosity oils..more »
If you are looking to destroy the competition in your next F1 in Schools or CO2 powered race then our F1 in Schools bearings are just what you need. When used with your wheels, these bearings will provide superior performance. You can choose between ceramic hybrid and full ceramic bearings. Because CO2 powered racing requires the bearings to be as friction free as possible ceramic is the best way to achieve that end. The reduction of rolling resistance and conservation of energy has been our hallmark since 1987...more »
Lightning Lube Technology is specially designed to form a molecular bond with all moving metal parts within any application. Use it to reduce friction, improve performance, decrease wear and extend life. Lightning Lube can be used when installing new bearings and components or to preserve your existing bearings and components..more »
Q: If I leave my ceramic hybrids dry will they wear faster?

A: Yes, while ceramic hybrid bearings do not need any lubrication to operate the steel races will have a longer life if they have a slight amount of lube on a regular basis.
