Description
Stainless Steel, Ceramic Hybrid, Orange Sealed bearings are specially designed for any application seeking a high precision, free spinning bearing. These are the true secret weapon for serious rc racers and long distance casters. ABEC 7 tolerances makes the Orange Seal line the closest precision tolerance that Boca Bearings has to offer. The removable, non-contact rubber seals results in a bearing with less drag and that requires less maintenance than a typical shielded bearing. The Grade 5 ceramic Si3N4 balls will allow the bearing to be lighter and spin 50% faster than a traditional steel bearing. LD = Lube Dry Bearings have been clean and are free of all grease and Oils. I installed bearings in my Okuma Sheffield reel and they are excellent. All the best.
Thank you again for prompt shipping and A+ product. -
Reviewer : Bob SDate : 4/22/2017Sheffield UpgradeAfter years of use, I replaced my Sheffiend factory bearings with these, run dry. Now, startup drag, e.g., the force it takes to get my spool turning, is amazing low. Sweet. Run dry, there is some noise or almost a vibration felt as the reel spins. To me, this has become the sound of fish.
One pointer I would like to mention that I learned studying these reels. Use care not to over tighten the spool nut as it adds drag. If you're afraid it will fall out from being too loose, take a short length (1/4in) of 6x tippet and insert it in the threaded end of the spool spindle were the spool nut goes in. This will act as a lock nut (of sorts) and then you don't have to over tighten the nut to compensate for your fear of loosing the damn thing. -
