Description

Ceramic Lightning, shielded bearings are specially designed for relatively clean operating environments. These bearings have ceramic balls, with stainless steel races, retainers and shields. Ceramic hybrids are lighter, capable of achieving higher RPMÆs and sustaining higher operating temperatures than traditional bearings. Bearings that are packed in grease will require a short break in period to loosen up. Grease can be removed before shipping upon request. Grade 10 SI3N4 Ceramic Balls, ABEC #5, (5x9x3)MM

    Teddy was very professional, he took my order without any editorializing, which I appreciated a great deal.



    The bearings themselves exceeded my expectations. After I serviced my oldest Shimano Curado 200DHSV, (#FTP103C-YZZ #5 LD & SMR95C-YZZ #5 NB2) I was like a kid spinning the spool watching the spin-down time exceed what I considered possible. Comparing it to the much newer 200DHSV, the factory bearings on that unit seemed to have brakes on (they weren�t) by comparison. I even thought that the second one might not improve as much as the first, but once I finished the bearing swap on that one, it too became a source of entertainment. These ceramic hybrids really do make a difference.


    I�ve done quite a bit of reel repair for a fair number of smaller circuit semi-pro fisherman, once they see my reels I�m pretty well confident they�ll be wanting upgrades too.
